He unlocked the door and entered. Russell studied the surroundings—everything was in place, just as he’d left it months ago. 

Tufted leather chairs would soon be swiveling with customers once again. For three generations, this barber shop had been the cornerstone of Russel’s family.

He knew the risks of reopening, but this was the family lifeblood. This shop reflected more than a job. Here, he felt echoes of his heritage. From the day that his immigrant Chilean grandfather opened shop—a deep pride was instilled in each generation to produce quality everyday. 

Russell was determined to continue to deliver on that promise.
