She pressed her palm against the cool stone bench.

“I just wish I’d have figured this out sooner...”

His words trailed off as her eyes locked into his. And at that moment, she knew he knew she knew.

A momentary silent exchange of half grins and gestured shoulders, as they turned back out to the small park with not another word.
