her own retrospective

In the twilight of her career, Regina paused to reflect during the fleeting days before retirement. Wading beneath a sense of pride in her celebrated accomplishments, was an unfulfilled longing.

She suspected she wasn’t alone in this feeling—that sense that she spent swaths of her career chasing motivations that never materialized, nor that really mattered.

She could have done more. But she justified her choices to be a mother, a two-time wife, sister, and a friend (sometimes even to herself). In zooming out, through reflection, she found balance.

Her legacy was already solidified. Now, in this precious time, it was about internalizing and crafting the narrative of her own retrospective.
