Just clicked ‘buy now’ from the online thrift shop. It’s what I was looking for—and at a fraction of the cost of a new one. Sometimes I look at it, and see its slightly tattered edges and fraying ends, and wonder if I should have sprung for the new one.

But then I remember that I booked a trip to New York for a week in April and still have jacket budget to spare…
