the retrograde debate

Claire’s fingers hovered over the sleek, smooth enter key. The curser’s pressuring blink nodded at her from her signature. 

“I would be thrilled to continue dialogue…”

For the last seven weeks she’d been building towards this moment - finessing, proofreading, tweaking into the earliest hours of the morning - and now she was here. And the only thing holding her back from bravely pressing send on what she believed would be a powerful step into her future was an obnoxious social media post that she couldn’t quite shake. 

The Centered Spiritualist:
Gentle reminder - Mercury is now in retrograde until November 3rd. Use this time to turn inward. Do not make any big decisions, sign any agreements, or take new action of any kind. This is a time of great miscommunication.

“Screw you, hippie freak,” Claire thought to herself. Was she really going to let her life be determined by the movement of a planet or worse an unknown social media source?

Her finger hovered, beginning to shake. How long had she been sitting here?

“Maybe I ought to Google it…” she thought to herself. 

Snapping her head up, she caught her reflection in the mirror. “Claire, who the hell are you and what do you want? There will always be someone telling you No.” 

She inhaled a brave breath. “I determine my destiny,” she whispered to herself as her shaking finger met the keyboard. “Bring it on little sphere.”
