Her toes neared the crumbling edge. The deep, ominous fog swirled hauntingly before her.

Her left shoulder, badly bruised, seemed to hang from her body. She’d never be able to climb now.

“I’ve ruined it all,” she cried out, “I don’t know anyone left who’s left to help me.” 

“Then it’s the perfect time,” he calmingly replied, the angry winds carrying his words with its cries. 

“For what?” She called back, barely craning her neck to avoid the sharp, rippling pain woven around her spine.

“To start again.”
