perfect practice

Claudia had been playing the piano for most of her seventeen years. She played everyday. Sometimes playing was her first love, and the most coveted time of her day, and others… she dreaded it.

She’d grown progressively frustrated because her playing plateaued. It felt like there were no major breakthroughs to come. She was at a point where she had mastered the music that she wanted to play.

But she continued her perfect practice, because she knew the moment that she eased the habit, that she’d feel that precipitous drop in the caliber of her craft.
